Harry Edward Styles, known in the world of music as Harry Styles, is a British musician and singer who is regarded as one of the members of the band One Direction. Based in Holmes Chapel in Cheshire England, Styles is the child of Des Styles & Anne Cox. Harry Styles went to the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, together with his fellow classmates, created a band group dubbed White Eskimo. They won the Battle of Bands in 2009 due to their impressive performance. Although he has always been interested in the arts, he hoping to be an lawyer or physiotherapist. A part-time job in a city bakery is his very first opportunity to earn money for the family. For the year 2010 Harry Styles presented audition for The X Factor where he did the track Is not She Lovely by Stevie Wonder and was selected. For that reason his band was forced to break up. Nicole Scherzinger told Harry Styles, Liam Payne Zayn Milik Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson that they'd form an ensemble called One Direction after the X Factor audition. Simon Cowell was the sponsor of this group, which began in the year 2010. The group performed Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Be Sucky without You as well as Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart in the competition, which made them one of the top contenders for winning the competition. But they finished placed third just behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles' group didn't take home the prize, however Cowell nevertheless paid two million dollars in cash to One Direction for them to agree to a contract with Syco.
