Paula Patton is an actress and producer who is best known for her leading roles in the action movie Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and the drama film Precious. When she was a child she was raised in the Los Angeles middle-class household. Her mother was a film enthusiast and was a constant source of encouragement to her love for films when she was a kid. Paula became involved in many activities at school that were co-curricular and had particular passion for dramatics. She was a huge fan of acting with her friends and participated in the school's stage productions. Hamilton Magnet Arts High School provided her with numerous opportunities to act throughout her schooling and she decided to pursue acting as a career. She attended The University of Southern California in a summer program and thoroughly loved her time there. She was awarded an assignment by PBS to produce documentaries over 3 months. After completing the assignment, she began working as an assistant to the production team for television documentaries. After completing her assignment and completing her documentary, she began producing films. Her work was rewarding but was determined to pursue a career as an actor. She launched her acting career through a role as a support in Will Smith's romantic comedy Hitch. Over the past few years she's been in a variety of films and television shows.
