Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964, is a Danish actor. He was in the role of Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock), the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. In 2011, he was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour At the age of 27 He was enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark where he graduated in 1995. He was also featured in The Killing's drama. After that, he was a part of Borgen III and Those Who Kill Both of which were internationally well-known Danish dramas. He also had a prominent part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer Charles Magnussen.In the American television show House of Cards, he played the president of Russia. In 2018, he won an International Emmy Award for his character in the character in the Danish TV drama Herrensveje. It was aired in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019.
